Collaboration of 5

The best outcome is when the momentum from the smaller BUCKET EXHBITIONS blooms into larger print projects.  Five Albuquerque artists made a collaborative print of their figures from the April 23, 2024 drawing session at Henry Morales' studio -- which was exhibited at the New Mexico Art League for their BODY LANGUAGE exhibition (July 13 - August 17, 2024):

    • The show runs from July 18 to August 17, 2024.
    • The reception is on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024  - 6 PM

The DRAWINGS

The prints were all of the same model, made during the long pose drawing session at Henry Morales' studio:

Henry printed some individual linocuts on Rives BFK lightweight paper:

We made our first collaborative prints on Henry Morales' press:

Henry, Virgil and Ellie

Fresh off the press,
a print on Sekishu (24" x 39") paper

However the prints were too large to enter the BODY LANGAUGE exhibition at the New Mexico Art League (maximum size 36 x 36 inches), so we reprinted a smaller version on a press. However there were imperfections in all the prints:

FINAL PRINT
June 27, 2024:

We printed by hand to make the final smaller print on Sekishu paper in Henry Morales' studio:

First we made a template,
and then added double stick tape
to hold all the individual linocuts in place
