How we met

JULIE SOLA

We met Julie Sola several times this year (2023) in Santa Fe.

We first met her at Hecho A Mano gallery at the top of Canyon Road, during PRINT SANTA 2023, while we were making prints outside on the Tortilla Press:

Then we met her again at the first PRINTERS PLANET Pop-up vendor market, at the Santa Fe State Fair, on June 24th, 2023:

MAKING PRINTS

We made prints on the street in front of Fat Crow Press. Anna Aragon helped us with our Tortilla Press, and also made Gelli prints inside:

We got the idea to use a Tortilla Press from 3 Gatos Press in Guadalajara. We also followed their lead by carving round linocuts, to print like tacos. We even sent them some round linocuts to print in Guadalajara.

We first met Anna Aragon back in 2016, demoing solar plates at Highlands University for the Print, Printed, Printing IV Conference in Las Vegas, New Mexico:

GELLI PRINTS

Anna had made Gelli prints at the PRINTERS PLANET in the Santa Fe Railyard, on August 13th -- taking orders from visitors for what colors they wanted, as quick as they make a "Subway" sandwich :
