REMARQUE OPEN HOUSE -- Big Tessellations and Detonography

During Remarque Print Workshop's OPEN HOUSE on November 2, 2025 -- we continued making prints from the large EXQUISITE TESSELLATION linocuts that we used for big collaborative Steamroller Prints during the recent Southwest Print Fiesta in Silver City.  We also made a print from a plate "etched" by explosives with Detonography:

BIG TESSELLATION PRINTS

We reprinted some of the big EXQUISITE TESSELLATION linocuts that we originally printed with a steamroller, during the Southwest Print Fiesta 2025 in Silver City, NM. The initial idea was to print two big tessellation linocuts on a 22x30 inch piece of paper:

We gave this print to Virgil Velasco, as the large red tessellation was from his linocut. This was in Barbara Endicott's studio during the Albuquerque South Valley Studio Tour on November 9, 2025:

DETONOGRAPHY

Chris Cherry gave us a bronze plate that was created by Detonography -- a process pioneered by Evelyn Rosenberg, using explosions to etch an image into bronze. Holland Hardie printed the plate with the intaglio method, and got a fairly nice result using Prussian Blue pigment:
